Batter Up for Fall Fun with AAYSA Softball! 

Get ready for another awesome season of softball excitement! AAYSA Softball is now open for Fall registration for all young athletes aged 4U to 14U (age determined by the USSSA chart for the 2025-2026 season).

Imagine regular practices to hone those skills, thrilling games, and an end-of-season tournament to celebrate teamwork and achievement! Practice schedules will be set to accommodate coach availability. Game days (historically weekdays and Saturdays) will be announced at the season's start. Get ready for some weekend tournament action too!

Softball rules are governed by USA Softball Official Rules of Fast Pitch Softball, with league approved exceptions/modifications. All modifications will be presented at the beginning of the season.

Frequently Asked Questions
  • When does Fall Ball begin?: Fall practices begin early August.
  • Where and when are practices held?: Practices are primarily held at the Brockett Elementary Softball field. The times are established when coaches are determined after enrollment but are as early as 5:30pm on weekdays.
  • Does my child need experience?: No. We welcome players of all experience levels. It's a recreational league, so the focus is on fun and learning!
  • What equipment does my child need?: We recommend each child has their own glove and cleats. (Please note, metal cleats are not allowed.) Most athletes wear infield masks however, pitchers are required to wear one. We can provide communal helmets, bats, and catcher gear. On occasion we have donated gloves & face masks. If you are in need of one of these items please feel free to reach out to see if we have any available.
  • How can I help or volunteer?: We are always looking for volunteers! In fact, our entire organization runs on help from volunteers like yourself. Sign up to volunteer as a Coach, Assistant Coach, Dugout Parent, or Scorekeeper under our volunteer section. If you want to help with snacks, walkup music, and/or other things, reach out to your coach at the beginning of the season. Help is always needed and much appreciated!
  • How long are the games?: 50 minutes: 6U & 4U 70 minutes: 8U & up
  • What does "Modified Coach Pitch" mean?: For 6U, batters will be allowed 3 coach pitches and 3 swings off tee (or any combination of 6 attempts to put the ball in play)
  • What does "Modified Kid Pitch" mean?: For 8U teams, a kid pitcher pitches normal strike count up to maximum of 3 balls; coach pitcher inherits strike count.
  • Are uniforms included in registration?: Registration fees include a customized softball jersey. The coach will notify you regarding the color/style of pants, socks, and belt, which you will need to purchase.
  • Where are games held?: We compete in the Denton County Interlock League (DCI.) This includes teams from Little Elm, Lake Cities (Corinth), Lewisville, Highland Village and The Colony. Locations will be updated prior to the start of the season.
  • Where Can I Find Schedules?: After registration is concluded and your teams are formed, you will receive an email invite to the GameChanger App. This invite will go to the email you register with. Please check your spam box. Here is where all game schedules will be loaded by the DCI league once available.
