Mandatory Volunteers: Please note that all cheer athlete families are required to provide volunteer service work of 2 hours per athlete.* The required volunteer service work is not difficult and you will be assisted by others familiar with the tasks needed. This volunteer service work could include but is not limited to: Entry Gate Duty, Concession Stands, Game Announcer, Field Setup/Breakdown, or Post Game Clean-up. The number of required volunteer spots will be determined by the number of home games hosted and the number of players registered. Families who do not complete their required volunteer spots will be assessed a fine of $100 that must be paid prior to future participation in AAYSA programs.

*Volunteer slots must be selected through the volunteer shift link prior to uniform handouts. Athletes will not be issued their uniform until this has been completed. This is to ensure all volunteer slots are filled prior to the start of the season and the slots must be worked to avoid the fee. There will be an option to pay the fee upfront and waive the volunteer shift requirement at the time of registration.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who can participate in AAYSA Cheer?

Our program is open to athletes entering 1st–6th grade who are local to Aubrey.

Do participants need cheer experience?

No experience is required! Our program is designed for beginners as well as returning cheerleaders.

When do practices start?

Practices will start after choreography camp at the beginning of August.

What is choreography camp?

Choreography camp will take place at Texas Elite in Pilot Point, August 3-5. We will have exact times at a later date. This is where the girls will learn their halftime routine, sharpen their skills, and build confidence! This price is included in registration. However, if you are unable to attend we cannot refund that part of your registration. We HIGHLY encourage your daughter to attend!

How often are practices?

Practice schedules will be communicated before the season begins by your assigned coach. Most teams practice 1–2 times per week.

What will cheerleaders learn?

Participants will learn age-appropriate cheers, chants, motions, jumps, basic stunts, and simple sideline routines to perform at football games.

When and where are the games?

Cheerleaders will perform at Aubrey Youth football games. Games are on Saturdays starting with the youngest teams. A detailed game schedule is typically released in late August/early September. Our home games are played at Aubrey High School, but they will have away games as well.

What is the time commitment?

Cheerleaders are expected to attend scheduled practices and games throughout the fall season. Attendance is a crucial part to completing a routine. When girls are absent, the team might not be able to perform their halftime routine at football games.

What does the registration fee include?

Registration fees cover field access, insurance, and league operations. Also included:

-Choreography camp

-Camp T-shirt

-Cheer bow

-Pink bow for October

-Trophy at end of season

You will pay for the uniform separately from registration! After registration closes, we will send out a date and location for uniform fittings and you will pay then. Typically this will take place towards the beginning of May.

Will they participate in any events?

Yes! AAYSA Cheer is very involved in the community and we love having the girls experience fun events. Typically, we participate in:
